The iconic Latonda chair is constructed with a steel rod frame and folded perforated sheet-metal seat and curved back-rest. Designed as a 'sparse armchair', the Latonda was Mario Botta's attempt to create a chair that was 'a geomteric pattern moving through space'. Now out of production.
Born in 1943 in Mendrisio, Switzerland, award-winning architect-designer Mario Botta has built an international reputation for striking postmodern public and private spaces that blend classical forms with a contemporary sensibility.
